Smokers Corner

I figured this blog would not be complete if I did not set this up. Please let us know what you have been firing up lately and your take; such as construction, light and burn, aroma, flavor, rating (scale of 1-100, 100 being the best) and overall comments. Thank you

  1. Hmm, I guess I will post the first cigar here...
Partagas Lusitania from 1998. This stick is a double corona hailing from the island of Cuba, and measures 7 5/8" with a 49 ring gauge. This particular stick has been aged for quite some time and had time to settle. The "DC" opened up immediately and notes of coffee and nuts were present with a certain creaminess. The cigar was very easy to smoke as the draw was wide open to allow big plumes of smoke that entice the palate. There was not one burn issue with this cigar, nor did I have to re-lite it once! I noticed from the exhaled smoke, there were strong notes of cedar and almonds. I enjoyed this stick with a large cup of black coffee that complimented the body very well. There is only one double corona that compares...and for those of you reading you will have to wait until I fire that bad boy up! I give this stick a 98!

  3. I'm out in California and I'm not allowed to smoke on campus, still do occasionally on my porch though, generally just tatuajes though. However, I was on my way back down from Santa Barbara to LA, driving on the 101 right next to the ocean, I was driving in my 1983 AMC concord wagon. About ten minutes into my trip I decided to light up an Anejo 49 courtesy of my girl Darlene!:) It was one of the best experiences I've had, it was one of those perfect times that cannot be recreated, and will forever be a reminder of why I smoke cigars. I gave the experience a 100, the anejo was the best 49 I've ever had, i give it a 96. Great burn, slowly with a great draw. wonderful construction, I didn't canoe once! Fantastic stick! It made the experience for me!

  4. Kid - you suck. Screw the 49, the ocean drive and all that - you are rolling in an '83 AMC Concord Wagon. That is pimpin' at its finest!!! Strong call by you all around.

  5. Now I am smoking an Oliva V Maduro Torpedo but I really can't taste anything after my top-shelf day yesterday. But the wine is good and the martinis and kobe sliders were even better.

  7. Podman, that sounds like a nice problem...wish I had the answer for that line up...nothing suffices.

  8. Hmmm, sounds like Podman was at Zaidis today. Very nice (in my best Borat accent).

  9. Yes I was but might have been better being on the set of Days of Our Lives. Anyway at least the food and drink was good.

  10. Been rolling pretty heavy with Litto Gomez and his band of merry rollers lately. The line-up goes with a Salamon, SB1, SB2, Chisel Puro and any number of LFD Double Ligero. Oh, I almost forgot the Coronado line. Con-Man, I'm going to be looking for that Lancero you advised about.

  11. "Con-Man", I am intrigued, who is this fella you speak of, I have never heard of...

  12. I think the Con-Man is a shortened way of saying Consiglieri. But I am just guessing of course when there is talk of Coronados and lanceros.

  13. Podman is a wise man. Simply a way of shortening our favorite barrister's handle.
